Untersuchung zum Einfluss radioopaker Zwischenschichten bei der in-situ CT geclinchter Verbindungen

Abstract

Ex-situ methods, such as micrograph analyses, are often used for quality assurance of clinch points. However, these do not allow the consideration of phenomena occurring during loading, as elastic deformations regress and cracks close after unloading. In contrast, in-situ computed tomography (CT) can be used to examine the internal structure of the clinching point, e.g. during a shear tensile test. In the case of materials of the same type, it is difficult to identify the interface between the joining partners in the CT scan due to the high pressures at the clinching point. Therefore, a radio-opaque interlayer of tin is introduced into the interface. In this work, the influence of this interlayer on in-situ CT shear tensile test is investigated. For this purpose, both force-displacement curves and the geometry of the clinch points under load are compared.
