Abstract

Teaching and learning at universities are constantly changing. Therefore, teachers are searching for innovative approaches to designing courses and learning materials. This article shows the positive effects of storytelling on learner’s cognition and motivation in university teaching and how storytelling can be visualized by using graphic novels. The underlying theoretical assumptions of the concept can be transferred to other topics without much effort. They should also encourage teachers of other domains to use graphic novels in the university context.
