Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a tube element made of a fiber composite material, having the steps of: providing (S1) a first fiber mesh (M1) and a second fiber mesh (M2), each of which is made of a mesh tube, and heating (S3) the fiber meshes (M1, M2) in order to form a bonded connection between the fiber meshes (M1, M2), thereby forming a tube body (21) of the tube element (2), said tube body having at least one first layer (210) with the first fiber mesh (M1) and a second layer (211) with the second fiber mesh (M2). In this manner, a tube element is provided which allows a lightweight construction of a vehicle seat with an advantageous controlled force dissipation in the event of a load.
