Abstract
New digital technologies and new forms of interaction permeate our everyday lives as well as how we work and learn on a day-to-day basis. At the same time, digitalization encourages changes in established job profiles, which in turn require new skills. It is of particular relevance to identify the conditions that enable a successful digital transformation in vocational education. At the same time, it is important to become aware of the challenges that inhibit this development. This article explores the success factors of digital vocational education and training. In this context, the BMBF project collected corresponding data in vocational schools and training companies. The article presents a framework of the identified factors (success and challenges) and deals in more detail with selected ones based on concrete empirical data. The individual factors represent parameters based on which the various actors in vocational education and training can initiate change processes.
