Research interests

(Quantum-)Materials: Discovery, crystal growth and characterization of topological insulators, low-dimensional metals, superconductors, intermetallic nanoparticels, clusters, coordination polymers, (frustrated) magnets, ionic conductors, SHG materials and new element modifications.

Sustainable Chemistry: Development of low-temperature resource-efficient material synthesis in ionic liquids, by the microwave-assisted polyol process, or in ultra-alkaline hydroflux.
