Person

Research interests

Martin Horwath's research interests include physical geodesy, satellite geodesy and geodetic Earth system research. Research has been focused on the following fields:

  • Ice sheet dynamic processes and mass balance from geodetic observations
  • Sea-level budget and ocean-mass budget
  • GNSS observation of solid Earth deformations, including glacial isostatic adjustment, elastic load deformation, and tectonic deformation
  • Satellite gravimetry: CHAMP, GRACE, GOCE satellite missions and future mission concepts
  • Global and regional static and time-variable gravity field modelling and its application to Earth system research
  • Satellite altimetry over ice sheets and ocean
  • Integration of geometric and gravimetric observations for glaciological and geodynamic investigations
  • Combination of satellite observations, fieldwork and geophysical modeling for glaciological and geodynamic investigations
  • GNSS reflectometry
