Abstract

The crack growth behavior of carbon fiber-plastic composites under mixed-mode loading with a load ratio of R=-1, R=0,1 and R=10 is examined. For this purpose, specimens with a hole-notch geometry were developed and investigated. In addition to an FE calculation to determine the energy release rate, an optical measurement method was developed with which the crack tip stress can be measured. The measurement data was compared with the crack growth data of DCB specimens.
