Standardized Skill Description. How to match the supply and demand of job skills.

Abstract

To monitor the development of job requirements skill monitoring systems are used to get insights into the changes in skills and competencies needed for jobs and occupations. The need for those systems results from rapidly changing contents and tasks for occupations and jobs, to follow digitization and automation processes as well as requirements for sustainability and resource conservation. The data is mostly derived from the perspective of employers displaying the need for skills in different job and occupation areas. The system of continuing education and training is instead the one that can respond to the needs and changes at the shortest notice. Their programmes and curricula should be adapted to the need for skills displayed by skills monitoring tools. In the project “MyEduLife”, we aim to change this situation by providing processes and technological infrastructure for the standardization and digitalization of educational certificates. The poster will summarize results from our initial analysis with educational training institutions.
