Abstract
The development of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Technology Enhanced Teaching (TET) in academic education is explored by mapping current needs and educational opportunities. The theoretical target is to derive perspective scenarios for a largely digitized teaching, learning and testing in study, teaching and further education of universities in Germany. While the digitization movement is progressing throughout society, as well as the high Innovation dynamics of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and the associated transformation processes, related TEL and TET Scenarios can be concluded. In the next step, considerations of the prerequisites and also of the readiness of the university, regarding infrastructure and competence of the teachers, but also regarding organizational and legal aspects, can be specified. This will allow to link the current European discussions such as DigCompEdu, the European Digital Competence Framework for Educators (see https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/digcompedu), and the role of Artificial Intelligence in Europe (cp. https://ec.europa.eu/digital-singlemarket/en/news/communication-artificial-intelligence-europe).
