Abstract

For the preliminary design and dimensioning of lightweight composite drive shafts with metallic load introduction, an efficient method is presented and exemplarily applied. Using the pin connection as load introduction system, essential damage and failure modes and their parameters will be discussed. Based on this, easily manageable analytical descriptions are presented with which engineers can very efficiently predesign drive shafts with pin connections in a practical way.
