Abstract
The reinforcement consists of several layers of continuous fibres connected to each other, the layers are covered and penetrated by the base material. In an embodiment, a section is cut out of the base material using laser cutting. A premanufactured insert made of a reinforced magnesium support structure (1) is adapted to the opening and inserted into the unreinforced magnesium part (3). The joint (2) is created by laser welding.
