Abstract
The use of accumulator traction vehicles means that the power transmission via the pantograph when the vehicle is stationary for charging is of great importance. Their increase is desirable for operational reasons. Tests carried out at the Technical University of Dresden with copper-impregnated contact strips showed that the limit value for the maximum current at standstill can be increased by around 20% for AC railways simply through the contact strip material and that this value can be further increased by further measures. © 2023 De Gruyter Open Ltd.
