Description
Today, 771 million people – one in 10 – do not have access to clean water and 1.7 billion people – one in four – do not have access to a toilet. Water is the most vital resource for life on Earth – and our ability to find solutions for sustainable and equitable water use, access to clean water, and sanitation will be critical.Halfway through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with its 17 goals, adopted by UN member states in 2015, this event looks at the prospects for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (“Clean water and sanitation”).
This event is directly related to the conference "Realizing Sustainable Development post-2030: The International Politics, Economics and Law of Clean Water & Sanitation (SDG 6)" of the Center for International Studies (ZIS), which begins the following day.
