On behalf of the Rolls-Royce Doctorate Network Committee, we are delighted to welcome you to The Rolls-Royce Doctorate Network Conference 2024! This is our ninth annual conference, showcasing the wide range of innovative research being carried out across all Rolls-Royce’s business sectors.
For the second year running, this in-person conference also provides access for online attendees, as we continue to expand our Network globally. We welcome again students and colleagues from the UK, Germany, Singapore, Italy, and the US. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘The Evolution of Power’, showcasing Rolls-Royce’s continuous improvement and exploration as pioneers of power. The theme also echoes with our two keynote presentations on sustainable aviation technologies, given by two distinguished speakers from Rolls-Royce: Sophie Chittim (Research & Technology Engineering Lead) and Prof. Hervé Morvan (Chief of Future Platforms & Global Chief of Hydrogen Technology).
This event continues to be an excellent opportunity to bring together industry and academia, encouraging collaboration and new relationships to promote pioneering research. We will hear from fifteen doctoral students in the form of 15-minute presentations, concerning topics on Modelling, Composites, Materials
Characterisation, Sustainability and Fatigue. In addition, we are pleased to have six dedicated poster presentations to share their research during lunchtime and the afternoon poster session. We are also delighted to have a professional institution as an exhibitor sharing chartership information.
