Abstract
The transdisciplinary research project „Lehrraum_digital“ [Lecture Room_digital] of the TU Dresden was concerned with the development and testing of participatory methods and instruments for the planning and design of physical teaching and learning rooms for vocational education and training (VET) against the backdrop of increasing digitisation of education. The paper presents case studies at VET institutions carried out in 2017 as the central part of the project. The paper focusses on a special space workshop format called Raumwerkstatt. It was developed in the project as a participatory part of the case study methodology as well as the presentation of the resulting results with regard to the relevance of physical learning spaces in professional development.
