Abstract

In accident insurance, the amount of the pension is assessed on the basis of the remaining working ability of the insured. Paragraph 56 clause 2 of social law VII is the legal basis for the evaluation. The reduction of the work ability (MdE) is based on the work ability an employee with an occupational accident or occupational disease still has in his overall working life. Transparency of the evaluation for a reduction of the work ability (MdE) is reguired. Attempts are being made to develop a data- and evidence-based evaluation of the reduction of the work ability (MdE).
