Abstract
The radial or axial shaft sealing ring has a body (3), a sealing lip (1) and optionally a protective lip. The novel feature is that the sealing ring is made from a homogeneous and/or non-homogeneous ceramic organic/inorganic composite material. It may be produced using known methods from optionally modified precursors or polymer-ceramics.
