With the upcoming interest in hydrogen as future alternative energy carrier as well hydrogen-specific processes and thermodynamic detail come into focus. In this contribution the ortho/para modifications of hydrogen and their consequences are described. This must be regarded for hydrogen liquefaction and for low-temperature hydrogen in liquid state.
