Abstract

Both the diagnosis and the therapy of vasculitis with involvement of the central nervous system (CNS) in childhood are very challenging. No studies exist on larger populations in this age group, either with regard to epidemiology or to the diagnostic work-up. The clinical presentation of CNS vasculitis with headache or stroke is unspecific and therefore of restricted value in the differential diagnosis of these diseases.
