Born, Tobias: Analysis of socio-demographical influences of using Video-on-\nDemand-platforms\nBachelor Thesis\nDresden University of Technology, “Friedrich List“ Faculty of Transport and Traffic\nSciences, Institute for Transport and Economics, Chair of Information and Communication\nBusiness Management & Economics\nStudy Program: Transport Economics, 2016\n37 Pages, 20 Figures, 1 Table, 21 References, 3 Appendices\nWithin the framework of this thesis the correlations between socio-demographical\nparameters and the use of video-on-demand services are examined based on an\nempirical online survey of Dresden University of Technology. The statistical tests using\nthe software IBM SPSS Statistics base on 1,800 data sets and depend on the\nscaling of the data. It is basically differentiated by legal free, paid and "illegal" videoon-\ndemand services. Here, a number of significant correlations can be determined.\nAn online study by ARD / ZDF from 2015 is used as main reference. A further component\nof the analysis is the preference of the test person for each VoD types compared\nto one another and to the borrowing or purchase of DVDs or Blu-rays. The socio-\ndemographic parameters gender, age and household income influence the decision\nto use different VoD offers. The representativeness of the survey is limited and\nmay be upgraded by personal interviews. Nevertheless, it can serve as a basis for\nfurther analysis.
