Abstract

The article shows how communication in collaborative problem-solving scenarios in the process industry is structured between the communication partners. A concept will be presented to support communication and testing of hypotheses. Visual information supports the communication between CRO and FO. In order to investigate the different interaction approaches, a scalable concept is needed with which the individual approaches can be implemented. The results of the research so far show advantages for the collaborative scenarios discussed in this paper. Further communication and visualization technologies, such as AR/VR or chatbots, are also conceivable with the presented concept and are considered in their feasibility and benefit for knowledge transfer. The paper presents that the strategic testing of fault hypotheses and the enrichment of communication with visual and textual data can facilitate fault diagnosis. For example, the visual presentation of a place of action for the communication partner can give hints that can resolve ambiguities of statements.
