Their pioneering manufacturing methods, materials, production equipments and the lack of practical experience make innovative technologies a major challenge for quick process ramp-ups as well as for controlling the reproducibility of the process. The article explains a novel method which assists the user with the acquisition of process knowledge on the example of manufacturing glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites. In addition to methodological basics, first practical experiences with the software-tool for process description and manufacturing data analysis are discussed.
