Abstract

The monitoring of forming processes and machine behavior is an essential enabler for increased agility and efficiency in forming technology. Here, the monitoring of rolling processes to produce metallic bipolar plates requires precise, sensitive, and continuous measurement combined with mechanically robust sensor integration. This paper presents a new concept for inline capable process monitoring by means of machine-inherent sensors.
