Abstract: The multilingual corpora of football linguistics contain texts from the domain of internet-based football coverage in 14 European languages in fully annotated form. They are made available to registered users via the web-based corpus analysis platform CQPweb. The article presents the design and technical implementation of the resource. It then outlines some possible uses of the corpora in the context of linguistic football research on the one hand, and more general questions from cognitive linguistics on the other, which can be addressed using the example of football.
