Abstract
Capturing an interconnected international industry benefits from having access to a highly diversified network. In such a context, we investigated processes of innovation occurring within a network of heterogeneous members of a cooperative, a type of organisation owned by its members, who demand support from the cooperative and are involved in its decision-making processes. Because networks of cooperatives comprise actors on different levels who together form a multilayer network further enriched by the member structure of cooperatives, such a network should enable cooperatives to realise potential developments in their interconnected international industry. Applying the Gioia method, we examined innovation processes in one such organisation with a multilayer network.
