Abstract

This article describes an approach how autonomous assembly systems use local self-optimization to improve their properties. In contrast to existing systems, this approach is much more suitable for small and medium-sized batches, since the system technology is less complex, can be used more adaptively and a sequential integration of manual workstations is planned in the sense of „hybrid autonomous cells“. Also, the embedding of the concept in a matrix-based production is presented.
