Abstract

To evaluate the effect of the textile strengthening layer in an engineering model of reinforced concrete plates under impact loading, a series of experiments were conducted, one of which is discussed in this paper. During these experiments, strain sensors with varying lengths were attached to the textile reinforcement to measure the local strains especially within the punching cone radius. The engineering model, which has been further refined with the experimental results, was compared to the determined strains as well as deformations of the plate, showing a good agreement in both.
