Abstract

Thermal influences on the work accuracy and productivity are increasingly becoming the focus in the further improvement of the performance of metal cutting machine tools. The SFB/ Transregio 96 researchs on different ways of thermo-energetic design and operation of machine tools. The various solutions need to be comparatively evaluated in terms of the effort required and the achievable benefits in order to represent their suitability can be used for selected applications.
