Abstract
We discuss current and future contributions that quantum technology can make to the realization of novel network services across diverse areas such as healthcare, industrial automation, and network security. With a focus on the five domains of high data rates, low latency, synchronization, security, and energy consumption, we discuss relevant theoretical concepts, the state of the art, and recent advances in quantum signal processing.
