Abstract

The invention relates to an organic photoactive component, in particular solar cell or organic photodetector, consisting of at least two electrodes and at least one layer which is situated between the electrodes and which contains at least one layer comprising organic materials, characterized in that the component contains at least one further layer consisting of at least one organic or inorganic material or a combination of organic or inorganic materials, and the layer, designated as transparent covering layer or covering layer, increases the efficiency of the photoactive component as a result of improved coupling-in light and/or reduced reflection and/or optimization of the optical field within the solar cell as a result of the formation of a microcavity, wherein the layer thickness of the transparent covering layer or covering layer, designated as D, satisfies the relationship D = d ± (0.2d), where d(n) = 201.9 -121.1n + 20.1n2 holds true and n is the optical refractive index of the covering layer.
