Abstract
The problem of nutation and the transfer function in the relativistic framework is discussed. The discussion focuses on the problem if the "correction for geodetic precession" has to be added before or after the transfer function has been applied to the Newtonian nutation of a rigid Earth. The authors' analysis shows that the current way to derive transfer functions imply that it should be applied before the nutation theory is corrected for the geodetic nutation.
