Abstract
The article is about press-bolts which are installed by cold forming in sheet metal constructions. Those fasteners belong to functional elements available in form of press-nuts as well as press-bolts. This paper is focused on press-bolt joints, which are equipped with a metric ISO thread according to DIN 13-1 and available in defined property classes related to DIN EN ISO 898-1. The introduced studies provides the scientific basis for further investigations with local fatigue approaches on cold forming joints with press-bolts. In this paper the static load bearing behaviour is determined by experimental as well as numerical investigations at first. In order to be able to describe the static load bearing behaviour sufficiently accurate, the forming simulation with its history of forming due to the installation sequence must also be considered.
