Abstract
Twenty years after the formulation of the consensus VLBI model as appear in the IERS conventions, we have now the necessity t o improve both the accuracy of the model and, anticipating various space - science applications, to increase the maximal allowed length of the baseline. This presentation overviews the improved model that gives an accuracy of 0.1 ps for Earth - bound baselines valid for VLBI observations of spacecrafts as well as suitable for space - based VLBI.
