Abstract

The Genadendal Diaries describe the development of the town of Baviaanskloof/Genadendal (South Africa) from 1792 onwards. They are available in a wide variety of versions and translations. The excerpts and translations presented here originate from the archives of the Moravian Church in Zeist and are now held in the Utrecht Archives. Following automatic transcription, normalization, and translation (German, English and Afrikaans) by the Moravian Knowledge Network Team in Dresden, the diaries will be made available and further processed to ultimately provide a complete corpus for further research.Brief description of content NL-UtHUA_A363349 Various extracts and passages from the Genadendal Diaries between 1792 and 1797, translated from German into Dutch (reading version in original Dutch, normalized German, English and Afrikaans).
