Abstract

Seed allergies are rare but can cause severe anaphylactic reactions. In a 13-year-old girl with non-allergic bronchial asthma and atopic eczema. The diagnosis of poppy seed allergy was confirmed using oral provocation 6 years after the first allergic reaction after consuming a baking mix containing poppy seeds and initially negative specific IgE but positive prick-to-prick testing. This resulted in a severe anaphylactic reaction requiring the administration of adrenaline twice.
