Abstract

The paper deals with the process chain of the fabrication of "Textile-reinforced composite components for function-integrating multi-material design in complex lightweight applications" focused at the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 639 which is established at the Technische Universität Dresden. In the article illustrates the complex character of the fabrication process. Subsequently, the requirements to model the process chain are deduced from this. The state of the art of the instruments for depiction and of the modelling concept is described. Specifically, the second part of the paper depicts the state of the modelling in technological disciplines as the spinning of hybrid yarns, weaving, or knitting, and consolidation. Furthermore, the way from part models to one total model of the process chain is explained. An example illustrates the application of the process chain model for planning the entire process chain.
