Abstract
The vision of Industry 4.0 aims for unparalleled interconnectedness among vendors, manufacturers, and partners. A key enabler is the digital twin, a virtual replica of assets across their life cycle. Integrating legacy devices, bound to specific protocols, into this ecosystem poses significant challenges. This paper presents a comprehensive approach using a Multi-Message Broker, Service-Oriented Architecture, and Protocol Buffers to bridge this gap. We propose a novel architecture for efficient and scalable data exchange between legacy assets and modern I4.0 systems, demonstrated through experiments and evaluations.
