In the context of Industry 4.0, the transformation of production systems to cyber-physical production systems plays a major role. After a general part, the article examines a specific application, the CPS-based tempering of a machine tool frame in detail. Essential aspects are the taken modeling steps (FEM, CFD, system model) and statements regarding the machine bed design and the placement of components for tempering.
