Abstract
This contribution concludes some findings of experimental research at the green roof research facility Dresden. The facility provides a monitoring system for coupled water, heat and matter fluxes in irrigated green roofs. Experimental results from 2020 to 2022 demonstrate that irrigation improves evaporation potential, substrate and surface cooling as well as plant vitality in green roofs. In contrast, stormwater retention is reduced.
