Abstract
Said invention makes it possible to increase the life-time of a conversion layer (16) converting a first emission spectrum light into a second emission spectrum light by mixing said conversion layer with a mixture containing an organic colouring agent (18) which absorbs light having at least one wavelength in the first light-emission spectrum and emits light in the second emission spectre, and an organic material. The advantages of organic synthesis chemistry in terms of quasi-limitless variability of wavelength absorption and emission is thereby preserved. In order to eliminate the disadvantages of organic colouring agents with respect to the insufficient stability thereof, an organic colouring agent is mixed with an organic material. The judicious selection of the organic material (18) makes it possible to use the conversion layer (16) in the form of a transparent anode or cathode, thereby simplifying the patterning of an electroluminescent component and lowing the cost thereof, for example by lithographic methods using silicium dioxide or titanium dioxide.
