Abstract

Laser beam methods for the joining of ceramic components have been developed at the TU Dresden for more than 10 years. The initial development stage was primarily focused on the development of methods for the vacuum tight joining of non-oxide ceramics. In the last years the positive results could be successfully transferred to the laser beam joining of oxide ceramics. Besides the adaptation of the laser beam technology, the development of the required brazing filler systems are primarily in the focus of the work presented here. This paper shows examples of laser joining applications.
