Abstract
The urban air mobility concept is seen as a new air mobility method in overcoming road traffic congestion in major megacities around the world. Urban air mobility has started to be seen as an alternative solution, especially in big cities where traffic infrastructure is not sufficient and transportation has become an important problem. Many transportation companies also state that e-VTOL vehicles to be used in the urban air mobility concept will play an important role in eliminating congestion in the future. In this context, e-VTOL vehicles provide significant time savings in metropolitan areas during peak traffic hours by using the integrated airspace together with ground-based transportation systems and come to the fore as a solution to the congestion on the ground thanks to fast and reliable transportation. In the process of considering urban transportation planning, including urban air mobility, it is among the most important requirements to choose the most suitable location for the vertiport/vertistop where the vehicles will take off and land. In this context, urban air mobility possibilities that will contribute to the reduction of time and cost losses due to heavy traffic flow and congestion in the metropolitan city of Istanbul have been researched, and the vertistop/ vertiport terminal location where e-VTOL vehicles will take off and land has been selected with GIS supported studies.
