Abstract

This article describes the use of virtual reality technology for the optimization of quality management methods. The developed method is presented using the FMEA as an example. It is an integrated method where VR is not simply used as supportive visualization tool but as centerpiece for interaction and presentation of all relevant information. VR, characterized by a close to reality 3D visualization in combination with a six degree of freedom interaction, is highly appropriate to illustrate complex contexts.
