Abstract

In view of the social challenges of the 21st century posed to future buildings, the question arises as to whether concrete constructions are still part of this future. However, the examples, approaches and possibilities in this article highlight that the in mass-produced concrete is feasible for resource-saving and climate-friendly constructions. The solutions presented demonstrate a commitment to ensure the sustainability of concrete construction in all its dimensions. It is evident that theses solutions are designed to enhance the sustainability of concrete constructions on a universal scale. The implementation of individual solutions or combinations of these solutions may also be expedient. In principle, the aim is to construct durable buildings with lifespans exceeding 100 years, and to facilitate their reuse or recycling to the greatest extent possible.
