Abstract
A result of the research within the framework of the IGF Project 15580BR is that significant prerequisites could be created for a clear improvement of the manufacturing, the functionality and the quality of orthoses on the basis of 2D and 3D mold-adapted flat-knitted spacer fabrics (AFGS). The research results give the small and medium-sized businesses of the flat-knitting industry in cooperation with orthoses manufacturers the possibility to carry out their own developments of AFGS semi-finished products, which meet the demands for material processing and load, to implement them into products and to present themselves as manufacturers on the market for innovative textile structures with a high functionality.
