Abstract

Holistic monitoring focuses on the health of heterogeneous industrial networks incorporating Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN). A centralized configuration approach, commonly referred to as Centralized User Configuration and Centralized Network Controller, is commonly employed for industrial networks that feature TSN. The continuous monitoring of network health with the current configuration improves enforcement efficiency and is a major concern for industrial users. Overprovisioning, increased network management complexity, and difficulties integrating new applications are some of the obstacles in heterogeneous networks. After providing an overview of the corresponding research, this paper presents advanced metrics for assessing the healthiness of heterogeneous industrial networks.
