Abstract
The BeFaNa project is developing a two-stage system consisting of a self-test and a consulting tool to encourage sustainable factory planning. The self-test offers companies an easy way to assess their status and identify efficiency potential. The consulting tool enables identification, detailed planning and implementation of sustainable solutions using a technology database. The focus of this article is the introduction of the self-test. By transferring scientific findings into practice, the project supports companies in achieving sustainability goals and economic benefits. In the long term, the project contributes to the establishment of sustainable factory planning and industrial symbioses to strengthen the ecological and economic resilience of companies.
