Abstract

The present work shows the dependence of crack growth in natural rubber on R ratio, temperature and filler content. The crack propagation behavior of natural rubber filled with silica and carbon black is compared. The importance of strain-induced crystallization before the crack tip is discussed. Our results allow the conclusion that the crack growth path in natural rubber depends on the material formulation and loading conditions and can be adjusted accordingly.
