Abstract

Truss structures are among the most efficient load-bearing structures in the building industry. Thus, concrete truss structures were already built at the beginning of reinforced concrete construction. However, the difficulties associated with the execution didn’t lead to the permanent establishment of concrete trusses. In this context, this article shows a possibility to further exploit the potential of concrete trusses. A truss structure consisting of concrete struts and ductile cast iron nodes is presented. The connection of the components is realized by a grouting concrete, for which the ductile cast iron nodes have a profile on the inside. The construction of this connection and the investigations carried out to determine the load-bearing capacity are the focus of the article.
