Abstract

This chapter provides an overview of experimental and theoretical studies of exciton propagation in 2D materials. Discussed is the diffusive regime of exciton transport, including linear and non-linear phenomena. It further covers the impact of environmental disorder, exciton-carrier mixtures, and finite temperatures. The focus is placed on monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenide semiconductors with a short summary of some of the recent findings for heterobilayer systems.
